2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV: The Next-Generation of Electric Vehicles

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV debuted earlier this week at the 2016 North American International Auto Show. The all-electric, extremely efficient Bolt is slated to be available for purchase in late 2016, and for as low as $30,000!

The Bolt’s design beautifully flows from the headlights to the rear wheels. The sculpted body sides and wheel arches allow for a robust, sturdy stance on the road. Thanks to the enclosed, flat underbody of the vehicle, airflow is streamlined and aerodynamics are improved.

The Bolt is powered by a 60-kilowatt lithium-ion battery pack. According to General Motors, the electric vehicle is expected to travel more than 200 miles on a full charge! Gas may be cheap these days, but could you imagine the money and inconvenience you will save yourself never having to stop for gas again?

A 120-volt charging unit is available with the standard cordset. A 240-volt charging unit is also available (professional installation required), which offers much more power than the 120-volt outlet, and charges faster. The 240-volt unit can fully charge the vehicle in nine hours, and can charge up to 25 miles of range per hour.

It has 200 horsepower and is capable of going from zero to 60 in less than seven seconds. It also can produce 266 foot-pounds of torque. The car is a five-seat, front-wheel drive electric vehicle, and offers 56.6 cubic feet of maximum cargo space.

Let’s talk about features and technology. The Bolt comes with a 10.2-inch display screen. Valuable information, such as battery levels, estimated range, energy usage, climate controls and more can be displayed on the screen. Navigation, music, contacts from your phone, hands-free calling and more can also be accessed. The Bolt has available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi, as well.

Along with every Chevy vehicle, safety is a top concern. The new Bolt comes with 10 airbags, and utilizes an advanced high-strength steel frame. Automatic Crash Response and OnStar advisors are also readily available to respond to any incidents. Also available are the Forward Pedestrian Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Be on the lookout for the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt in late 2016. This vehicle is the next-generation of electric vehicles, and sets the benchmark for affordable, long-range EV driving, as well as performance.
