Imagine stepping up to the same home plate as some of baseball’s greatest legends, and setting foot on grounds that are filled with Detroit history dating all the way back to 1912.
The corner at Michigan and Trumbull looks to return to hosting both athletes and spectators, as well as looking to add to that list of greats.
The old Tiger Stadium location is currently undergoing construction to become the Corner Ballpark; a facility and field location that will house youth sporting events and community programs. It will also be the first location owned by Detroit PAL, the nonprofit organization behind providing educational and sport related outlets for over 12,000 youths in the city.
With a new home for the organization as well as a state of the art stadium for their young athletes to have fun playing on, Detroit PAL looks to continue to expand it’s positive influence in Detroit. The Corner Ballpark may be a special location, but they aim to make all of Detroit a safe environment for every kid to enjoy.
