Your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers feel an important part of our mission is to give back to our communities. Our 38 local Chevrolet dealerships are proud to have helped hundreds of thousands of Metro Detroiters by hosting donation drives and supporting local nonprofits, sports teams, restaurants, businesses, musicians, and artists.

Our Most Recent Initiative:

Stepping Up for Our Kids: Worn-out shoes can hold kids back from fully participating in school. Step Up for Kids aims to change that by providing new shoes, helping every child focus on learning and staying active.

Making a Difference, One Pair at a Time: A new pair of shoes can make all the difference—helping kids fit in, stay comfortable, and participate confidently in every school activity.

Our Collective Impact: With the incredible support of our 38 Metro Detroit Chevy Dealerships and the community, Step Up for Kids has provided over 3,000 pairs of shoes to children across Metro Detroit.

Throughout the entire month of March, we host a donation drive to collect non-perishable food items for approximately 20 local food pantries across Metro Detroit. This initiative helps support families and individuals facing food insecurity while making a positive impact during a crucial time. Learn more: https://chevydetroit.com/truckloads-of-hope

The entire month of June, each of our 38 Chevy dealerships chooses a local animal non-profit in their area to support. We collect donations such as dog/cat food, host pet adoption events, and support each individual animal non-profit in the best way that serves them.

During the holiday season, we love hosting our Season of Giving donation drive to benefit The Bottomless Toy Chest – a local non-profit that provides new toys to pediatric cancer patients at local hospitals. People can donate by dropping off a new toy at one of our 38 Chevy dealerships. The toys must be NEW as every precaution is taken to protect the patients’ immune systems. Traditionally, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen (CSK) assists 200,000 Detroit neighbors annually with emergency food and clothing and distributes more than 10,000 pounds of food each day. We are proud to support CSK with our annual Truckloads of Hope donation drive in which we collect non-perishable food to help them serve over 2,000 meals a day for local Metro Detroiters in need. The Shades of Pink Foundation provides financial assistance to women who are battling breast cancer. We are proud to support them each year as the top sponsor of their “A Wild Time at the Zoo” event, their largest annual fundraiser. To learn more, visit: http://shadesofpinkfoundation.org/

Every year at the Detroit Marathon, we roll out the red carpet for the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans and provide them with the best hospitality in the country. The Achilles Freedom team are heroes who have lost their limbs serving our country and battle PTSD. They have found great therapy in Marathon racing using adaptive devices such as hand-crank cycles. The Michigan Warriors Hockey Program is a nonprofit that provides an educational and developmental hockey program for disabled Veterans. With the mission of providing hope, joy, and normalcy to pediatric cancer patients in local Metro Detroit hospitals, we couldn’t be more proud to support The Bottomless Toy Chest with our Season of Giving donation drive. For more than 150 years, Wayne State University has been part of the fabric of Detroit. It’s located in Midtown, the cultural district… and has been a major contributor to the resurgence of the city. Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers are honored to be the automotive-exclusive sponsor of this historical university with one of the largest professional and graduate schools in the nation.

The entire month of September, we host a donation drive to collect new shoes for impoverished children and teens. We partner with Volunteers of America’s local chapter which distributes the shoes to impoverished kids in our Metro Detroit area. We collect shoes from youth size 11 to adult size 11 for kids ages 4-18. Shoes are one of the first indicators of poverty. We are trying to provide at least one small tool to help less fortunate kids feel comfortable and confident.

We are proud to be the exclusive automotive sponsor of Lawrence Technological University (LTU) athletics. With 32 dynamic sports teams, LTU fosters both athletic excellence and academic rigor, offering STEM-oriented programs that shape future leaders. Together, we are driving innovation both on and off the field.

During the holiday season, Somerset Collection transforms into a magical venue that your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers are proud to be a part of the experience. Through our sponsorship, we are extending our Season of Giving toy drive, offering complimentary valet parking to Chevy vehicles (at the Capital Grille valet only), and giving away a $1,000 shopping spree to make the season even brighter. We love celebrating the holidays at Somerset Collection and are thrilled to spread even more joy and generosity this festive season.

We have proudly sponsored the Detroit Free Press Top 10 Takeover events for the past 10 years. Each year, Freep announces the 10 Best New Restaurants of the Year, and together we host a series of curated multi-course dining events at each establishment. Not only does this provide a unique and special experience for diners, but it also supports each local restaurant and benefits Forgotten Harvest. A portion of the proceeds from these events is donated to Forgotten Harvest, helping to combat hunger in our community.
