Cozy Dining

Great Food, Comfy Atmosphere: Cozy Dining in the D

Metro Detroit is full of restaurants with warm, cozy ambiance. Dimly lit dining rooms with crackling fires and flavorful dishes are just a few of the criteria when it comes to cozy dining.

Warm up and elate your taste buds at one of the following southeast Michigan eateries:

Deadwood Bar & Grill

Located in Northville, this rustic eatery makes you feel like you’ve gone up north, complete with a stone fireplace, knotty pine walls and handmade furniture. While you’re soaking up the ambiance, try the Houghton Burger (topped with grilled smoked ham and Cheddar cheese), Buffaloaf (buffalo meatloaf topped with gravy) or Southern Fried Chicken Dinner.

Café Cortina

Less up north, more stunning elegance, Café Cortina creates a cozy atmosphere in a different way, this time with an Italian countryside vineyard setting right here in Farmington Hills. Complete with cozy fireplace, entrée choices include Aged Black Angus Filet Mignon and Tower of Layered Spinach Lasagna.

St. CeCe’s Pub

A staple in Detroit, not only does St. CeCe’s provide a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, the seasonal menus use fresh, local produce, supplied from farms including Seeley Farms and Culver Farms. Grab a seat by the fireplace for lunch and order a Monte Cristo sandwich or plate of Irish Nacho Fries (topped with Cheddar cheese, sloppy joe and salsa).

Karl’s Cabin

Housed in a log cabin, Karl’s makes you feel warm and cozy before you even step inside. Rustically beautiful, the Plymouth restaurant is both upscale and comfortable at the same time, making you feel right at home. The menu’s Baseball Cut Sirloin, Mac and Three Cheese and Smoked Beef Brisket are all great choices for ultimate comfort food.

Redcoat Tavern

Known for serving one of Metro Detroit’s best burgers, this Royal Oak eatery has an appropriate red glow to it, cozy booths and a fireplace. The menu is just as comforting, including the Original Redcoat Special Hamburger (which you can top any way you like), English-Style Fish and Chips (served with fries and coleslaw) and Shepherd’s Pie.

These are just a few of Metro Detroit’s most warm and inviting restaurants. Explore as many as you can!
