Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, and whether you’re Irish or not, you’ll likely be celebrating in some capacity. Grab a friend and head out for some fun at an Irish whiskey bar in southeast Michigan!
A Corktown staple since 1902, Nancy Whiskey boasts one of the oldest liquor licenses in the city of Detroit. Don’t miss out on Whiskey Wednesdays tonight, when Jamesons are just $3, and come back later in the week for the Friday fish fry from noon to 8 p.m.
Whiskey and draft beer is always flowing at this Detroit bar, where you’ll also find a number of Irish specialties on the menu. Drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea, so try Paddy’s Irish Melt, Gaelic Club or Irish Whiskey Steak.
Located in Detroit’s Eastern Market, this whiskey bar is celebrating the month of March with $5 Bushmills Black Bush Irish whiskey, all day, every day. Last month, the bar hosted an Irish whiskey class, so keep an eye out for future similar events!
You’ll find plenty of Irish whiskey and a great atmosphere at this bar, a recent addition to downtown Detroit, located above the Grand Trunk Pub. Try The Detroit cocktail, made with Power’s Irish Whiskey, Domain de Canton, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and ground pepper.
On Wednesday, March 30, The Whisky Parlor will host a Jameson Irish Whiskey Tasting at 7 p.m. Don’t miss it!
Irish or not, there are plenty of other whiskey bars in the southeast Michigan area where you can wet your whistle, including: The Whiskey Six (Grosse Pointe), Motor City Gas (Royal Oak), Mash (Ann Arbor) and Cornerstone Barrel House (Detroit).
Cheers to St. Paddy’s Day in the D!
