Berkley Common

While already open a very limited sense, the grand opening is just around the corner. Berkley Common plans to focus on local ingredients to ensure quality and freshness in the meals they prepare. To that end, Berkley Common will have a flat-top roof that will house a garden that will produce garnishes for the restaurant’s cocktails. How cool is that?

Lady of the House

The long-awaited debut of former Republic executive chef Kate William’s Corktown restaurant, Lady of the House, might happen this fall. According to its Facebook page, staff training is underway, outdoor signage has been hung and finishing touches are being placed. Expect American cuisine with French and Nordic inspirations all in a welcoming, rustic atmosphere.

Norma G’s

You might know Norma G’s as the only food truck in Detroit serving Caribbean and Trinidadian food, but if all goes according to plan, you’ll also know Norma G’s by its upcoming Jefferson Chalmers location. Owner Lester Gouvia wants to open a brick-and-mortar location because of the limitations a food truck presents in what he can prepare for customers. He’s looking to open this fall on 14700 E. Jefferson Ave.

Prime + Proper

This steakhouse has been in development at the Capitol Park Building for almost a year and a half, but it’s nearing the finish line. Once complete, Prime + Proper will cover two floors and seat about 175 diners. In addition to serving a variety of meat cuts, patrons can look forward to a full beverage and pastry program.

Wilda’s

The New Center eatery, headed up by Lucy Carnaghi is expected to open by the end of summer or later this fall (grain of salt: the restaurant’s Instagram page hasn’t been updated since April this year). Wilda’s will serve American cuisine, focusing on dinner at first and then rolling out breakfast and lunch.

Detroit Shipping Co.

The highly ambitious project that will house restaurants, a beer garden, live entertainment and more is aiming to open up in Midtown this October. The location itself will be made out of several refashioned shipping containers with communal tables, retail shops and more.
