Whether you are looking to craft the perfect dinner entree, new ways to satisfy your sweet tooth, or perhaps some healthier options, there are some great cooking classes in the metro Detroit area going on this fall. Grab your apron and check out these four cooking classes, just in time for Thanksgiving!
Cooking for vegetarians can be a little tricky, but luckily Mirepoix at Holiday Market in Royal Oak can help you find new ways to cook delicious vegetarian dishes. The Vegetarian Made Easy class will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 6 p.m.-9:30 p.m. There are only 12 spots open for this class, so make sure you register soon.
There is arguably nothing more delicious than a fine Italian dinner, but some of the dishes are tricky to make. No need to worry, Chef Andy Stewart will host a cooking class teaching guests how to make some of the finest Italian dishes, including Pasta alla Chitarra, Zuppa Toscana, and Tiramisu. The class will take place on Sunday, November 5 at Fustini’s in Ann Arbor.
If you are looking for the perfect dessert to make for you and your family over the holidays, the cream puff might be the perfect choice. Zingerman’s Bakehouse will be hosting their “Who You Calling a Cream Puff?” class on Sunday, November 13. The class will teach you about the history of the cream puff, show you how to prepare your own dough, as well as how to make pastry cream, whipped cream, and chocolate ganache. If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, we’re not sure what will.
Thanksgiving is known for Turkey and large meals, but dessert is arguably just as important (isn’t it always?). Luckily for you, Zingerman’s Bakehouse will be hosting multiple “Baking Pies a Plenty” cooking classes starting on Saturday, November 19 and going until Wednesday, November 23. The classes will include lessons on how to make the perfect pie crust and how to make your own dough by hand. Check out all of the available classes.
