5 Local Events To Attend in November


With the month of October coming and going in what seems like a flash, the month of November is surprisingly upon us. The holiday season will start to pick up as we move closer to Thanksgiving, but there are plenty of other things to look forward to throughout the month. Here are five metro Detroit events we think you should mark on your calendar this month.

Youmacon, 11/3-11/6

Youmacon returns for its 11th year as over 14,000 people will come together at Cobo Center and Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center to celebrate the best in anime culture. Attendees will be able to meet famous anime voices face to face, compete in cosplay competitions, take part in special panels, and shop for the latest fandom treasures. Royal Oak Restaurant Week, 11/4-11/13

The Royal Oak Restaurant Association will be hosting another Royal Oak Restaurant week from Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 13. Over 20 of Royal Oak’s top restaurants will be offering three course lunch and dinner menus for $15, $25, or $35 a person. Novi Pet Expo, 11/11-11/13

The Novi Pet Expo will return to the Suburban Collection Showplace the weekend of November 11. Pet owners and lovers will be able to play with animals, adopt their new pet, learn healthy tips, and shop for the latest pet toys and equipment. Sip Savor Stomp, 11/12

Westborn Market will be hosting Sip, Savor, Stomp at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Saturday, November 12. Attendees will be able to try nearly 300 wines from 90 wineries, enjoy wine-inspired cuisine, and dance to live entertainment. Tickets start at $45 per person, but discount tickets are available at Westborn Markets, which can be found here.

Festival of Art Fine Art Show, 11/25-11/27

The Livingston Fine Art Association will be hosting the Fantasy of Art Show at the Historic Howell Opera house. The show will feature 30 local artists and their work, which is available for purchase. The festival will be in conjunction with the Festival of Lights Parade happening throughout the weekend. The full schedule of the festival can be found here.
