If you’ve lived in the Detroit area for any period of time, you know there are countless rental venues available for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, or any kind of celebration. Here are five well-known places you might not have considered, or even known were available, for your next big event.
Built in 1928, the Royal Oak Music Theatre is one of the more beautiful venues in the metro Detroit area. With state of the art sound and lighting, along with the art-deco architecture, it’s a venue that truly rocks big events. Specializing in corporate events, weddings, Bat Mitzvahs, charity galas, and more, the Royal Oak Music Theatre is the perfect place for a party, no matter the size. Along with the many perks of renting out the Royal Oak Music Theatre for your wedding, imagine pulling up to the theater with your name on the big marquee on the front of the building. Pretty cool.
The Russell Industrial Center is probably the most versatile venue on this list, as it can host pretty much any type of event you can think of. It has been known to host galleries, exhibitions, concerts, weddings, art studios, and more in its big expo center. With seven buildings and tons of square footage, there’s plenty of room for you and your party to have some fun.
If you want to spend a day at a museum, there are few better places to do so other than The Henry Ford Museum. When you need to plan your next big family event, wedding, award banquet, or corporate celebration, you can also do that at The Henry Ford Museum. The museum offers great wedding packages, including historic transportation and delicious dinner packages. Along with the Henry Ford Museum, private events can also be held at Greenfield Village, Lovett Hall and Ford Rouge Factory Tour.
The birthplace of the Model T might be old, but it is anything but boring. The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant has hosted everything from corporate parties, to weddings, to even media interviews during its 112 year existence. The 402 foot long, three story building is unique and is the perfect place to throw a good party.
Saint Andrew’s Hall is one of Detroit’s most historic venues and has hosted some pretty awesome concerts during its more than 100 year existence. The venue does not just host the most talented bands, the venue can also play host to your latest banquet or celebration. With a reception capacity of 1,000 in the full venue, you can throw a pretty big party. If you’re looking for a smaller space, you can also rent out The Shelter or The Society Room, which will fit 100 to 400 people. There are dance floors, bars, and a unique vintage feel from the building. You might have been there recently for a concert, but you should consider holding your next banquet or reception at St. Andrew’s Hall.
