Beware Poltergeists! Ghost Tours of Metro Detroit


If people can celebrate Christmas in July, there should be no reason I can’t take in a haunted attraction in the midst of spring. The good news is that there are plenty of ghost tours and haunted attractions to check out in southeast Michigan right now! From stories of famous killings in the city to the paranormal activity found in an old water mill, prepare to be spooked!

Notorious 313

Notorious 313 is City Tour Detroit’s series of tours that cover all things ghostly in the Motor City. There are four walking tours and two bus tours. Participating in any of Notorious 313’s tours will show you the city’s most haunted attractions, telling stories of mob hits, buried bodies, Harry Houdini’s connection to Detroit and more.

Ghosts of Plymouth Walk

Put on by the Plymouth Historical Museum, Ghosts of Plymouth is a walk through the city taking place on Saturday, April 21. Learn about the history of Plymouth from the spirits of those that impacted it the most, such as Amelia Starkweather, George Springer and Carl Heide. Walks begin at 4 p.m. and new groups set off every 15 minutes.

The Old Mill Paranormal Lock-In

The Old Mill Museum in Dundee, Michigan is home to some good ol’ ghost huntin’! On April 20 and June 8, The Old Mill will be hosting its Paranormal Lock-In event where ghost hunters of all levels of experience will be given the opportunity to investigate the paranormal workings of The Old Mill. The entire event runs from 8 p.m. until 10 a.m. the next day with a light meal to be served around midnight.

Historic Fort Wayne Tours After Dark

Beginning this June and running through October, the Historic Fort Wayne Coalition will be hosting its Tours After Dark. This is a guided tour by an expert of the paranormal who will tell ghost stories of the Fort Wayne buildings and grounds. Cameras and recording devices are permitted and there will be an opportunity for you to conduct your own investigations into the paranormal happenings of Historic Fort Wayne.
