It’s late June, which means fireworks season is in full force, as we ramp up toward America’s Independence Day. To make things easy for you, I have taken the liberty (pun intended) to sort out upcoming fireworks celebrations by county for you. So, here you go, folks:

Macomb County

June 23: New Baltimore, Waterfront Park

June 24: St. Clair Shores, Veterans Memorial Park; Mount Clemens, Riverfront on North Main Street (downtown)

June 25: Utica, Riverwalk/next to City Hall; Center Line, Memorial Park

July 1: Harrison Township, Lake St. Clair Metropark

July 3: Sterling Heights, Freedom Hill Park

Oakland County

June 25: Highland, Next to Highland Township City Hall; Ortonville, Brandon Middle School; Lake Orion, at Green’s Park (Lake Orion also hosts fireworks on July 2); Milford, Kensington Metropark

June 26: Madison Heights, Civic Center Park  

June 29: Rochester Hills, Borden Park

June 30: Wixom, at dusk, Sibley Park

July 1: Leonard, Addison Oaks County Park

July 2: Holly, Groveland Oaks Park; White Lake, south end of the lake; Waterford, Maceday Lake

July 3: Beverly Hills/Birmingham, Lincoln Hills Golf Course; Wolverine Lake, fireworks launched from center of lake

July 4: Clawson, Clawson Park; Clarkston, Clintonwood Park; Huntington Woods, Rackham Golf Course

Washtenaw County

June 29: Dexter, Hudson Mills Metropark

July 3: Manchester, Carr Park

Wayne County

June 25: Taylor, Heritage Park; Belleville/Van Buren, Beck Ballfields

June 26: New Boston, Willow Metropark; Livonia, Ford Field

June 27: Detroit, Hart Plaza

June 28: Brownstown, Lake Erie Metropark

June 30: Romulus, behind Romulus Middle School

July 2: Grosse Pointe Farms, Lake Shore Drive Waterfront

July 3: Plymouth, Township Park

July 4: Gibraltar, behind Parsons Middle School

Just so you’re aware, fireworks will be launched either at dusk, or between 9:30 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. at each of these locations.

My dear readers, this will actually be my last published story on “In the D,” as I am moving on to another opportunity. I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who has followed along with me or read even one article these past two-and-a-half years. It’s been fun!
