Celebrate Small Businesses this Saturday


As you and your family get ready for delicious Thanksgiving dinner and prepare yourself for some Black Friday deals, it’s important to remember one other event this week: Small Business Saturday. The annual event highlights the importance of local businesses in communities and is a great way to see what unique items these stores have to offer. Metro Detroit has plenty of events taking place this Saturday, so grab that holiday shopping list and check out these great local businesses!

Downtown Wayne Small Business Saturday

Experience all of the unique businesses Downtown Wayne has to offer this Saturday with not one, but two special events. The day will start at Karma Coffee & Kitchen at 10 a.m. where you can pick-up a free tote bag, a small coffee, and potentially win gift cards from the surrounding local stores. During all of your shopping, there will also be a visit with Santa at the State Wayne Theatre beginning at 12 p.m. where kids can get a free photo with Jolly Ole Saint Nick.

Oakland County Small Business Saturday

Oakland County is encouraging everybody to shop small this Saturday by giving you the chance to win up to $5,000! All you have to do is shop at an Oakland County small business and either text or share your receipt online by Tuesday, December 3 to be entered to win. Small Business Saturday Downtown Rochester

Downtown Rochester is not only celebrating the holiday season with some big bright lights, it’s also celebrating its bustling shopping district on Small Business Saturday. You’ll be able to find shops offering antiques, art supplies, unique clothing, jewelry, sporting goods, and so much more. Be sure to check out other great holiday events taking place in Downtown Rochester throughout December.

Simply Small Business Saturday

Taking place at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit, the Simply Small Business Saturday Expo returns by popular demand at 12 p.m. on Saturday. The event will feature more than 50 vendors that will help you find that perfect gift for anyone on your list. Proceeds for the event will go to support FOG Kids, a non-profit organization that provides a safe and friendly environment where bereaved individuals of all ages can find uplifting encouragement.

Shop Small in GRANDmont Rosedale

Numerous small business along Grand River will have exclusive deals beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday as part of the Shop Small in GRANDmont Rosedale event. Businesses such as Detroit Vegan Soul, Pages Bookshop, The Garden Bug, and Northwest Gallery of Art will be featuring their locally made products and special deals. The Detroit Experience Factory will also be offering a shop small tour that stops at three businesses and a brief tour of the neighborhood.
