Rising Stars Academy and Chef Brandon Zarb are bringing a Japanese Peruvian Dinner to Frame in Hazel Park, presented by your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers and the Detroit Free Press.

Chef Brandon Zarb & Rising Stars Academy to Host Dinner at Frame

When it comes to learning the culinary arts, who better to learn the tricks of the trade from than an accomplished chef? That’s where Chef Brandon Zarb comes in, who departed from Public House and Imperial in Ferndale earlier this year to educate young adults with special needs at Rising Stars Academy.

Come December, you will have the opportunity to discover the talents of Zarb and his team of culinary students. Your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers and the Detroit Free Press are partnering with our friends at Frame in Hazel Park and Rising Stars Academy to bring you two nights of a Japanese Peruvian Dinner with Chef Brandon Zarb.

Happening Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd, this dinner will consist of six courses, including such dishes as leche de tigre (langoustino, mango, togirashi, ikura), pepino y pepitas (yuzu kusho, jicima, edamame, wasabi tobiko) and pollo a la brasa (bamboo rice omusubi, aji verde, red shiso).

Rising Stars Academy was founded in 2012 by Mark Prentiss, a professional chef, and Debbie Prentiss, a professional educator. Mark and Debbie wanted to create a place where young adults with special needs could go to learn culinary arts with the hope that it would lead them to be gainfully employed doing something they enjoy. The school’s curriculum runs through most of the year with a summer break from June until August.

“I’m just looking to do something that’s going to be a little bit more fulfilling and meaningful,” Zarb told the Detroit Free Press when he made the switch to Rising Stars Academy. “I love cooking food. I love being a chef and I’ll go back to it. This isn’t the end of the road for me. But Rising Stars actually changes people’s lives. It actually contributes to a community in a way that a good restaurant can’t really do.”

Your Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers and the Detroit Free Press are giving away two pairs of tickets to the Japanese Peruvian Dinner (two tickets for December 1st at 5:30 p.m. and two tickets for December 2nd at 7 p.m.). Click here to enter.

If you don’t win, tickets are available for purchase at a price of $55 per person. All proceeds from the Japanese Peruvian Dinner will go directly to Rising Stars Academy to improve their educational programs.
