Detroit Food Academy is a local nonprofit that has created a safe space for the youth of Detroit to learn about food and themselves. DFA educates students through cooking and nutrition classes, and provides them with opportunities to take control of their own paths and test themselves in through entrepreneurial experiences.
Watch the video below to learn how Detroit Food Academy is giving Detroit students a leg up in both life skills and educational opportunities.
Detroit Food Academy strives to create a welcoming environment for students to learn and give them a boost into the world of business and entrepreneurship. Their accomplishments and desire to further expand their goals makes DFA a Chevy Detroit Champion.
You can help support the Detroit Food Academy by purchasing their products from booths and the Detroit Pop Shop on weekends at Eastern Market, events around town, and through purchasing Mitten Bites found at multiple local grocers. You can also donate directly to their site.
