Roxie Hart is a house wife and nightclub performer, with big dreams of being a headliner in Vaudeville. Velma Kelly is a scene stealing former headliner. What do these two have in common? Murder. That’s right… they both have been arrested for murder. Roxie killed her lover after he failed to keep his end of their bargain to make her famous and then threatened to walk out on her. Velma killed her husband and sister, when she caught them having an affair. 1920’s Chicago’s newspapers love to get the scoop and the naughtier, the better. Velma has been at the top of their ratings for a long time, but once Roxie comes along, Velma is old news. Roxie and Velma find themselves competing not only for the attention of the press, but also the focus of their shared lawyer, the suave Billy Flynn. This riveting and twist turning plot is Chicago and it is coming back to Detroit.
