We all know that winter in Michigan is cooooold! However, all that cold can create some really fun events. One of those is the Plymouth Ice Festival. Held every year in downtown Plymouth, this is the largest free ice sculpture display in the country. With over 100 sculptures, fun competitions, interesting demonstrations, food and craft vendors and more, this is a wintertime wonderland of fun. There is even a dueling chainsaw carving competition! So don’t miss out on this spectacular event. The show takes place in downtown Plymouth from Friday, January 20 to Sunday, January 22, 2012. The fun kicks off at 3 pm on Friday, with opening ceremonies commencing at 7 pm and wraps up at 9 pm. Saturday’s hours are 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday’s hours are 10 am to 6 pm. However, the park is open and the lights will be on for the entire weekend if you feel like a late night stroll! For more information, please visit www.plymouthicefestival.org.
