Kansas City, Missouri indie rock band The Get Up Kids Formed in 1995 and will always be known as a major player in the mid-90’s emo scene. The band founded the Heroes & Villains Records label, under Vagrant Records which served as a platform for several of the bands side projects, like The New Amsterdams and Reggie and the Full Effect.

After 10 years together the band broke up in 2005. In 2008 they announced they would be getting back together for a reunion tour in 2009 to support the tenth anniversary re-release of their highly successful studio album “Something to Write Home About.”

With an album’s worth of new material written, The Get Up Kids recorded a new record titled, “There are rules” which was released in January of this year. The band is currently back together touring in support of this record and will be playing St. Andrews Hall in Detroit on March 10th with special guests Miniature Tigers and Brian Bonz.
