 Looking for some great entertainment mixed with arts, crafts, great food and drink all tied in to a do-it-yourself work ethic?  Well, look no further than the DIY Street Fair happening September 16, 17 and 18, 2011 in Ferndale!

This one-of-a-kind fair showcases local artists, businesses, organizations, crafters, musicians and restaurants all who hold the same do-it-yourself attitude.  It is one big celebration that is based on the independent Michigan spirit and those who live it daily.

The DIY Fair is organized by some of the young community leaders who recognize the important of the DIY ethic.  They have a passion and understanding of how a strong, positive work ethic can make Detroit and the surrounding communities thrive. The fair showcases local merchants and artists and shows how keeping close to your roots and using forward thinking can be productive and successful.

This event is open to the public and admission is free. There will be local up and coming bands performing each day of the fair.  In the marketplace, there will be a wide variety of arts, crafts and other works available for purchase.  Of age patrons can visit the delicious beer garden and sample local Great Lakes brews.  All are welcome to stop by the area known affectionately as, “Restaurant Row” where local eateries will offer some of the best cuisine around.  Finally, there will be a Kids Friendly Zone for all the kiddies to come and enjoy their own festivities.  Puppet shows, circus school, arts & crafts and more await them at the DIY fair.

The DIY Street Fair will be located on E Troy Street, off of Woodward Avenue, 1 block South of E 9 Mile Road the in Ferndale, MI. It will be held in the municipal parking lots just west of the Ferndale Public Library and south of Troy Street behind Woodward Avenue Brewers.
