Head over to Gallery U & Boutique this February for a celebration of Mardi Gras for a great cause! The Joie De Vivre is a Mardi Gras Fundraiser Event for Gilda’s Club of Metro Detroit. This amazing event will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm.
As the celebration happens at Gallery U & Boutique, attendees can take a moment to examine the origin and purpose of Mardi Gras as a tradition of New Orleans.
Live jazz, beads, necklaces and an extravagant in store floor display will don the Gallery to make an authentic Mardi Gras experience. There will also be New Orleans style art available for purchase.
In addition, there will be a New Orleans traditional King cake with a baby inside. The finder of the baby will receive an original piece of art by a member of Universal Institute.
Masks will be worn and raffled at the event, along with festive baskets filled with artisan goods made by the clients of Universal Institute.
All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit.
