Do your kids love to build? Check out Lowe’s Build and Grow workshops at 10 a.m. on Saturdays in the Metro Detroit area.

Kids receive goggles and aprons and then go to work on a project, using the kits provided by Lowe’s. Everything they need for the project is there. Kids as young as three can participate with parents’ help. Kids as old as 10 or 11 will still get enjoyment out of it.

Past projects have included trucks, school buses and race cars. Here’s what’s coming next:

  • Saturday, May 28: Biplane
  • Saturday, June 11: Goofy Golf Kit – a fun Father’s Day gift

Kids get to keep the goggles and apron, and they also get a patch showing the kit they completed. It’s a great way to get kids moving on a Saturday morning. And yes, lots of girls participate too.

You can register on the Web site, but walk-ins are welcome too.

Sign up for workshops, and find out what’s next on the list of things to build, at www.lowesbuildandgrow.com.
