A New Painting by Juan Valdés Leal

Juan Valdés Leal was a central artistic figure in Seville between 1650 and 1700. The Detroit Institute of Arts is happy to have recently added a painting by this famous artist to their collection. The painting will be on display with Salvador Salort-Pons discussing the history of the Valdés work and why this new acquisition is so important to the DIA. The lecture will take place on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 6:30 pm. The lecture is free with the price of admission to the museum which is $8 for adults. For more information, please visit www.dia.org.
