The Detroit Opera House is pleased to present The Marriage of Figaro. This timeless classic opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte is based on a stage comedy by Pierre Beaumarchais and consists of 4 acts. The opera premiered in Vienna in 1786. Although it was originally banned due to its risky satire of the aristocracy, it is now considered to be one of Mozart’s greatest successes. The opera is sung in Italian with English translations projected above the stage. The opera will be running from November 12, 2011 until November 20, 2011. Tickets range from $51-$111.
