Silverado: Where Power Meets Performance

Power. Everyone wants it. Few have it.
With the Chevrolet Silverado, you can say hello to best-in-class torque1, best-in-class towing capacity2 and best-in-class fuel economy3. Each of Chevrolet’s EcoTec3 engines used in different Silverado models are best-in-class winners, so whether you’re looking to be environmentally conscious with best-in-class fuel economy or have big projects that need the strength of high towing capacity or torque, look no further than the Chevy Silverado.
Thanks to a 4.3L V6 EcoTec3 engine, the Chevy Silverado has the best-in-class torque rating at 305 lb/ft at 3900 RPM. The 4.3L engine is also FlexFuel capable, which means it can run on E85, gasoline or a combination of the two. While it may not be best-in-class when it comes to fuel economy or towing capacity, it does have an impressive 18/24 MPG4 rating and 7,600 lbs. of towing capacity…which brings me to my next point.
If best-in-class towing is the name of the game, the 6.2L V8 EcoTec3 engine from Chevy is the key to winning. With 12,500 lbs of towing capacity2, there is no other engine in its class that measures up against the 6.2L V8 engine. It also has a torque rating of 460 lb/ft at 4100 RPM and, thanks to the steel bed of Chevy’s Silverado, is one of the toughest trucks out there.
The 5.3L V8 wins best-in-class fuel economy with a 16/23 MPG3 rating. While the 4.3L V6 has better fuel economy, the towing capacity is no laughing matter on the 5.3L V8 at 11,100 lbs. So, if you want to strike a balance between power and fuel economy, the 5.3L V8 might check all of your boxes.
If power is the ability to get things done, the Chevy Silverado lineup proves it. With several best-in-class ratings across towing capacity, torque and fuel economy, there’s little wonder why the Silverado is the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickup on the road5.
