Fun Runs, Marathons & More: Seasonal Spring Runs in Metro D

Spring means it’s time to get moving, and what better way to enjoy the newfound warmth than with some exercise?
Lace up your shoes and get ready for one of the following running events in metro D:
The 3rd annual event takes place in Milford on Saturday, March 26. Events include a one-mile fun run, 5K and 10K. The event benefits Community Sharing, a nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing, shelter and more to those in need. Registration costs $17 to $45.
Huron Meadows Metropark of Brighton hosts a 4K and 8K trail race on Saturday, April 2 at 10 a.m. Registration costs benefit Girls on the Run Southeastern Michigan and a local Boy Scout Troop.
If you enjoy desserts and running, this one’s for you! The race starts and finishes at the Farmington Family YMCA on Sunday, April 17. Once you finish the one-mile, 5K or 8K race, treat yourself to cheesecake samples, provided by The Cheesecake Factory. Online registration is available here.
The 3rd annual race takes place on Saturday, April 30 at Novi Middle School. This year’s event celebrates Cinco de Mayo, and runners are encouraged to wear green, red and white. Additional races include a 5K and 10K.
This run takes place under nightfall at Northville’s Maybury State Park on Friday, May 6 at 9 p.m. After an awards ceremony is a post-race party with food, drinks and bluegrass. Note: you must have a flashlight or headlamp to run!
