From the long drives, to the smell of a campsite, and the sights of late summer in Southeast Michigan, there are numerous reasons to pack the family up for an RV trip. RV parks across Metro Detroit allow you to experience the great outdoors in a safe, fun environment. Now’s the time to make one last summer getaway or plan a quick fall weekend vacation, and these RV parks have everything you need to do just that.
The Detroit Greenfield RV Park, which is actually located in Ypsilanti, is a perfect family RV site complete with on-site mini golf, baseball field, game room, and playground. If you’re looking for a little extended stay the site also offers a laundry room, outdoor dish-washing area, and fully stocked convenience store. You can also rent a trailer or cabin on the site, but dates are limited with the campsite closing on October 30, so be sure to check the website for availability options.
Go Karts, baseball batting cages, mini golf, and plenty of swimming await families at the Harbortown RV Resort in Monroe. The paved and spacious park has numerous amenities including laundry rooms, convenience store and restrooms. For some spooky fun be sure to check out the site’s Halloween Weekends beginning on Friday, September 20 running through Sunday, October 20.
For over 70 years Camp Lord Willing RV Park has been a top vacation spot for campers in Monroe. With a lake perfect for fishing, swimming, and canoeing, there’s plenty of outdoor fun to be had. Located near the heart of Monroe, there’s plenty of opportunity for dining, shopping and entertainment as well.
Milan’s KC Campground is a 20 acre park complete with a playground, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, and weekend hayrides. The campsite hosts special holiday events including Labor Day weekend wagon rides and Halloween weekend trick or treating and pot luck dinner. A standard two person cabin is now available for those looking for a weekend getaway.
Wayne County Fairgrounds is probably the most accessible site for Metro Detroit families with a location near I-94 in Belleville. The site is near the Yankee Air Museum and Greenfield Village, making for a great day trip during your stay. For more information on rates, including what comes with a full hook-up, be sure to visit the fairground’s website.
