St. Patrick’s Day is just a couple of days away and while the annual Detroit parade celebrating the luck of the Irish has been canceled, you can still celebrate with authentic food and drink. Plenty of Irish restaurants in Metro Detroit are serving dine-in and carryout customers this St. Patrick’s Day, so you can safely enjoy your favorite pub on the biggest Irish holiday of the year. John Cowley & Sons
A local favorite in Farmington, John Cowley & Sons will be providing food service on St. Patrick’s Day, starting with breakfast at 8 a.m. and a full menu starting at 12 p.m. Their entire dinner menu plus corned beef and cabbage will be available. The first floor and outdoor patio (weather permitting) will be reserved for dine-in customers. The second floor will feature live music with a $5 cover starting at 11 a.m. 21+ only and an ID is required.
Irish Coffee Bar & Grill
Over in Grosse Pointe Farms, Irish Coffee Bar & Grill will be open for dine-in and carryout orders on St. Patrick’s Day. The menu features ground rounds (burgers), several fish dinners, corned beef sandwiches and more. Stay tuned to their Facebook page for updates.
Pat O’Brien’s Tavern in St. Clair Shores will be kicking things off on St. Patrick’s Day with an Irish breakfast from 7-9 a.m. They will also have shot specials, a heated patio and no cover charge. Reservations are required and can be made via OpenTable. Located in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood, McShane’s Pub & Whiskey Bar is holding a patio party on St. Patrick’s Day to commemorate the official opening on their “McTiki Bar.” Special drinks, including a “shamrock slush” and green beer will be served, along with brats, hot dogs, burgers, chicken and, of course, corned beef and cabbage. There will even be a tap takeover from Kuhnhenn Brewing Company! A staple of Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Duggan’s Irish Pub is serving dine-in and carryout customers. With a menu filled with all kinds of options, from burgers and pizza to Irish specialties, like shepherd’s pie and fish & chips, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on St. Patrick’s Day at one of Metro Detroit’s favorite Irish restaurants. After nearly 50 years as a Waterford institution, Kennedy’s Irish Pub will be celebrating the greenest day of the year all day long. Stop in for a corned beef reuben or set of sliders, baked goulash or, the real winner of the menu, the corned beef boxty — corned beef wrapped in a homemade potato crepe topped with housemade horseradish sour cream sauce.
