The Tigers won the Central Division. Miguel Cabrera has won the Triple Crown, which is a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in Major League Baseball history since 1967 when Carl Yastrzemski won it as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Justin Verlander has a chance to repeat as the American League CY Young winner. In my opinion, you can hardly call this underachieving.
Wait a minute. Am I possibly forgetting the most important statistic of the regular season? The total attendance has broken 3,000,000 for the second time in franchise history. This Central Division title couldn’t have been possible without the help and support of the dedicated fans that showed up every single night to watch their Detroit Tigers. Even if you didn’t have the chance to make it out to watch a game inside Comerica Park this season, watching the game on TV or listening to the game on the radio still contributed.
The fans have been such an integral part of the regular season because of our dedications to root for our team day in and day out no matter the circumstances.
Let’s see where we are at now. We have been stress-free for the past 3 days due to the fact that the Tigers clinched on Monday. Well, I hope you enjoyed your stress-free 3 days of the regular season because it is time to get ready to watch your Detroit Tigers play some playoff baseball!

If you are one of the lucky fans who purchased season tickets and automatically received priority to playoff tickets, I applaud you. If you are one of the dedicated fans who used your hard-earned money to purchase playoff tickets, I respect you.
The fans of the Detroit Tigers have stuck with their team the entire season and now they are being rewarded. The only part left is to win a World Series.
162 games down. 11 wins to go.
If you were anything like me this year, you had to deal with a team that had its ups and downs. It came down to the final series of the regular season to clinch the title.
How many times throughout the season were you in doubt? Let’s be honest. Personally, I always had faith in my team but started to worry after the last loss to the division-leading Chicago White Sox.
However, 2 weeks after that game, our Detroit Tigers clinched the American League Central Division title for the second straight year. This is a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in franchise history since 1934-1935.
So, what if you aren’t one of those people who will get a chance to see a playoff game live inside Comerica Park where the atmosphere is so electric that you can feel your heart beating through your chest? You can still be a part of it without actually being inside.
Why not head downtown in your Tigers gear hours before the game starts and grab the perfect tailgating parking spot? Even though you don’t have tickets, you can still enjoy the pregame atmosphere as thousands of fans grill hot dogs, drink beer, and get ready to witness some exciting postseason play.
A few minutes before the first pitch is about to take place, head on over to one of the local bars to watch the game with all of the other dedicated Detroit Tigers fans. Some of the most popular places in the downtown area to watch playoff baseball are Hockeytown Café, Cheli’s Chili Bar, Coaches Corner, and Nemo’s Bar. The atmosphere in the city is sure to be nothing short of spectacular.
Fire up, Detroit! Get ready for some Detroit Tigers playoff baseball!
