For those of you without a calendar, Mother’s Day falls this coming Sunday, May 12. If you’re culinary-challenged, save your madre from consuming your kitchen catastrophes and take her out for a lovely meal instead. Whether you’ve got money to burn or you’re on a budget, there are several Metro Detroit eateries offering special menus all day on Mother’s Day.

Mélange, 312 S. Main St., Ann Arbor, is offering a Mothers Eat Free promotion from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., so this is the best wallet-friendly option for treating your mama. The bistro’s menu includes sushi, vegan and vegetarian options, as well as seafood and various meats.

Santorini Estiatorio, 501 Monroe St., Detroit, will hold Mother’s Day Brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $29.95 per person ($12.95 for children 12 and under). For an extra $9, you can get all the mimosas you want, too. The brunch menu includes Greek favorites like Pastitsio and Moussaka, as well as a carving station with lamb and turkey breast, a made to order omelette station and more. The assorted desserts include Baklava, which I would highly recommend trying. The last brunch seating will be at 3 p.m., and the restaurant’s regular dinner menu resumes at 4:30 p.m.

Café Muse, 418 S. Washington Ave., Royal Oak, is celebrating Mother’s Day with its 5th Annual Brunch Buffet from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The buffet consists of a salad station, homemade pastries, breakfast items, lunch items and desserts. For $29.95, ($10.95 for children ages 5 to 12), you get unlimited amounts of the above, plus soft drinks, coffee, or tea. Main dishes include Baked Brioche French Toast with Strawberry Basil Maple Syrup, Smoked Salmon, Couli Curried Coconut Shrimp and Bacon Crab Cakes with Roasted Red Pepper.

With best-in-class cargo space, top of the line safety features, and cutting edge technology, the Chevy Suburban is perfect for any family. See the Suburban's available features that can keep up with your family's lifestyle.

The Rugby Grille, 100 Townsend St., Birmingham, is offering Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, the perfect opportunity for a unique outing. Tea will be served from noon to 2 p.m., and for $36, patrons can enjoy a chef’s selection of tea sandwiches (such as Cucumber and Dill and Curry Chicken Tartlet), scones and miniature tea pastries.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 17400 Haggerty Rd., Livonia, is offering a special brunch menu from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For $36.95, each guest gets his or her choice of appetizer and entrée, served with two side dishes and a choice of dessert. Specialty Mother’s Day cocktails are available for an additional fee, and all moms dining in receive a $25 gift card.

Morton’s, 888 W. Big Beaver Rd., Troy, is taking reservations for a special Mother’s Day Three Course Meal, which will be available from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. for $59. You’ll get your choice of appetizer (including an Ahi Tuna Tower and Lobster Bisque), entrée (filet mignon, salmon fillet, chicken or pork chop dishes) and dessert (Double Chocolate Mousse or Individual Lemon Soufflé).

Don’t forget to call ahead and make a reservation for the aforementioned dining specials. Not doing so will result in a major party foul. Happy Mother’s Day to all!
