The Chevy Trax offers style and practicality, perfect for making every drive fun for the whole family.
It is a year to remember for Chevrolet as it swept the North American Car and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) Awards for the first time ever. The Corvette Stingray took home 2014 Car of the Year honors, as the Silverado 1500 won Truck of the Year with relative ease in terms of voting.
We all know about the breathtaking beauty of the 2014 Stingray, but there is just as much to be said about the 2014 Silverado. While also not skimping on good looks, this vehicle has some serious durability and power. Let’s go over some of the awards and accolades it has won, and discuss some of the features that have helped it earn the title of 2014 Truck of the Year.
The North American Truck of the Year Award is one of, if not the highest of honors in the automotive industry. The criteria for choosing a winner is based on several factors judged by 49 automotive experts and journalists. Factors may include: innovation, handling, design, driver’s satisfaction, value of the vehicle and more. The Silverado received 219 points, which was good for first place by a landslide (the second place vehicle was 45 points behind).
Automotive and Business Fleet Magazine named the Silverado 1500 the 2014 Truck of the Year as well. It was put up against 35 other pickup trucks, but proved to be too much for the competition. As if being named Truck of the Year by two outlets wasn’t enough, Four Wheeler Magazine also crowned the Silverado king for 2014. The magazine cited the smooth ride, power, and dynamic handling as the winning features.
