The football season is back in full swing, and while watching the Lions from the comfort of your home is great, there’s something special about spending a Sunday afternoon with other devoted Lions fans at a bar. Detroit offers plenty of places to do just that, but here are our five favorite bars that are great to catch a Lions game.

Harry’s Detroit Bar

A top choice for Detroiters on gameday, Harry’s Detroit Bar has everything you want in a sports bar. Plenty of TVs, a great beer selection, delicious snack food, and even a patio deck that’s perfect for a fall afternoon.

Nemo’s

You can find this bar (Finding Nemo joke) in Corktown and it’s one of the more iconic bars in the area. Not only is the beer selection great and the food filling, but Nemo’s also offers shuttle services to and from Detroit games and major events.

Thomas Magee’s Sporting House Whiskey Bar

Cold beer is always great during a football game, but those looking for something with a little more kick might want to check out the whiskey selection at Thomas Magee’s Sporting House Whiskey Bar. A great selection of beer and whiskey, to go along with multiple TVs showing a multitude of sporting events, makes this one of the top sporting bars in Detroit.

Whether you're going out on a fishing trip, discovering new hiking spots, or heading out for a weekend of camping, the Trailblazer is an ideal companion for your active lifestyle.

The Detroiter Bar

With a menu consisting of flaming sausages, breaded mushrooms, burgers, and gyros, the Detroiter Bar on Beaubien Street is a great place to snack while you watch the Lions with other fans. There’s always plenty of beers on tap which always goes great with an afternoon of football.

Coaches Corner

Located just down the street from Ford Field, Coaches Corner has plenty of big screen HDTVs, a full-service bar, an outdoor patio, and a large dining room to fit a large crowd of football fans. If you’re not into the typical bar burgers or other grill options, be sure to try their famous Detroit-style pizza.
