We all know that the Detroit Zoo is a great place to take your family on a weekend afternoon, but you might not know that there are cool events happening throughout each season. While it certainly may not feel like winter is coming, there are some exciting events taking place at the zoo, just in time for the holidays.
For 29 nights beginning on November 18, the Detroit Zoo brings back one of their most popular traditions. More than five million LED lights will be on display and special entertainment and activities will take place throughout the zoo. Tickets are $10 in advance, $13 at the door and make sure to check the website to see what nights this event takes place on.
For those looking to enjoy some of the winter brews from Michigan craft breweries while at the Wild Lights spectacular, the Detroit Zoo will be hosting a one night only Polar Beers event on December 7. General admission starts at $45 and includes 12 beer-tasting tickets, but be sure to purchase tickets in advance since this event tends to sell out. Designated Driver tickets are available for $25 each.
The popular Breakfast with Santa is back for its 14th year as families can enjoy a buffet-style waffle breakfast, a special gift for each child, arts and crafts, photo opportunities, and a visit from Santa. Tickets for non-members are $35 for children and $40 for adults, age 15 years or older. Detroit Zoological Society Members save $5. Tickets are already on sale, so be sure to buy yours here.
