The weather might be getting colder, but that does not mean you should pack those running shoes in the closet for the rest of the year. The annual Ann Arbor Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving in downtown Ann Arbor. All runners will receive a long sleeve T-shirt, while 5K finishers will receive a custom medal, and Tot Trot 1K finishers will receive festive medals. Runners will also receive hot chocolate and the chance to take pictures with Santa and Turkey Tom.
Instead of waiting in insane lines on Black Friday, consider participating in the Black Toenail Friday Half Marathon on Friday, November 25. The event will take runners through the beautiful trails of Proud Lake State Recreation Area with either a 7 mile or a 13.1 mile run.
The Belleville Jingle Bell is one of the more fun runs in the area as there will be prizes awarded for things like most festive runner. There will also be medals for male and female 5K, Masters male and female 5K, and top 3 in age group.
