Testa Barra Kitchen and Cocktails
This Italian/American restaurant from the Baldwin Restaurant opened in June in Macomb Township. The menu includes homemade pasta, lamb shank, short ribs, hand-tossed pizza, fish, salads and more.

Narrow Way Cafe
Located on the Avenue of Fashion in Detroit, Narrow Way Cafe made its debut in July. Inside, you’ll find coffee from Zingerman’s, smoothies and baked goods from Avalon International Bread.
Detroit Fleat
The long-awaited food truck park in Ferndale finally arrived in July. Now, you can munch on goodies from Delectabowl, Pita Post, Mac Shack, Drifter Coffee and a slew of rotating trucks.

River Bistro
As the first of Maxcel Hardy’s three planned ventures (the other two being Coop and Detroit Shipping Co.) in Detroit, River Bistro opened on August 13th and serves Caribbean fare such as Jerk ribs, honey-spiced chicken wings, rock shrimp fritters and more.
New Order Coffee
I wrote about New Order Coffee earlier this summer and while the Ferndale location has yet to open, you can already enjoy micro-brewed coffee and cereal milk lattes at its flagship Brush Park location.
Red Dunn Kitchen

Chef Jay Gundy and general manager Dustin Walker’s Red Dunn Kitchen can be found within Trumbull & Porter Hotel in Detroit. On the menu, you’ll find items such as gras stuffed-quail, bacon-wrapped duck breast and fried chicken roulade. None of these items come as a surprise, considering “red dunn” is another word for chicken.
Brix Wine & Charcuterie Boutique
As the newest establishment on this list, Brix Wine & Charcuterie Boutique began a soft launch last week with free wine tastings from 4 p.m. ‘til 1 a.m., Thursday – Sunday. Wines from Michigan, Austria, Italy and France will be poured and diners can expect domestic and imported meats and cheeses.
