Designed for family outings and scenic getaways, the Chevy Traverse provides comfort and convenience for every journey.
Finding time in our busy schedules to help others can be tough. We say we’re going to volunteer or make a donation to an organization, but when it comes down to it, it slips our mind or we get caught up in the minutia of our daily responsibilities. To that end, there’s one thing we don’t forget to do: eat. So, why not combine a charitable act with the act of eating? That’s what these four metro Detroit food events are all about! How do you feel about the Roaring Twenties? Well, Detroit Gatsby is hosting the Bootleg Dinner in the Orchard on September 8. There will be locally-sourced food, drinks, and music with a 1920s theme attached to it all. Enjoy outdoor seating while supporting Farnsworth Street Orchard and Cider Mill, the brainchild of Ron Shelton, who turned an area of blighted houses on his street into a cider mill. How cool is that!? Nourish is a pop-up dinner series hosted by and for Eastern Market Corportion, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that works towards a healthier Detroit. The dinner series brings in local chefs from Detroit to make a multi-course dinner with an optional beverage pairing. Located in Shed 5 of Eastern Market, this round of the Nourish will see chef Matt Tulpa from Salt & Saffron making a five-course meal for 42 guests. If you missed Taco Fest in August, you’re in luck because Taco Hop is happening this month in downtown Wyandotte. Taco trucks from around metro Detroit will put it in park to serve delicious tacos to the masses along with more than 20 Michigan craft beers available. Atomic Radio will be the featured musical guest and proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels and Heart 2 Hart Detroit. Designed for family outings and scenic getaways, the Chevy Traverse provides comfort and convenience for every journey. Benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan is the Michigan Flavors 2017 Charity Dinner at Great Lakes Culinary Center. Now in its sixth season, Michigan Flavors invites patrons to a three-course meal plus a cocktail hour and an open bar. During the dinner, episodes of the PBS show Great Lakes ~ Great Tastes will be screened. The show focuses on Michiganders who have rebuilt and repurposed existing buildings and other architecture, turning them into restaurants and more. Detroit Gatsby Bootleg Dinner in the Orchard (9/8)
