The Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers (MDCD), in partnership with Volunteers of America Michigan (VOAMI), are launching a month-long shoe drive, “Step Up for Kids” to benefit underprivileged youth in our local communities. For the entire month of September, you can join our 38 local Metro Detroit Chevy Dealerships in providing new shoes to children experiencing homelessness and living in underserved communities within Metro Detroit.
All shoes collected during the drive will be distributed to kids ages 4-18 in Metro Detroit through Volunteers of America Michigan and their Intermediate School District Partners. New shoes from youth size 11 to adult size 11 are most in need, with sneakers such as Nike, Adidas, Converse, and Vans being the preferred donations.
“Your donation extends far beyond a simple shoebox. A new pair of shoes empowers students to confidently sit among their peers in the classroom, comfortably participate in gym class, and feel capable of achieving their goals.” – Hailey Priebe of VOAMI.
Donations can be dropped off at any of the 38 participating Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers now through September 30. Simply place your donation in the designated Silverado truck bed display, and your generous gift will be distributed locally to impoverished students.
