Chevrolet recently debuted its 2017 Cruze Hatchback, which is set to go on sale this fall. The hatchback version of Chevrolet’s best-selling car offers greater cargo space, a sleeker design and top-tier technology.

Perhaps the most emphatic feature of the new vehicle is the storage space. The Cruze Hatchback offers 22.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat, an increase from a mere 15 cubic feet offered in the 2015 sedan version. But guess what? With the rear seat folded, cargo space expands to 47.2 cubic feet!

Another noticeable difference between the hatchback and sedan model is, of course, the design. The hatchback has sleek curves and sporty accents. The new design includes wraparound taillamps and an integrated spoiler at the top of the liftgate.

In addition, the architecture of the car is lighter and more rigid. It is more than 200 pounds lighter than previous models! The body structure is 100 pounds lighter, while the engine sheds 44 pounds from past-generation models.

The Cruze Hatchback comes with a standard 1.4-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine. The engine is direct injection and has Stop/Start technologies and electric power steering. The vehicle is expected to get around 40 MPG on the highway.

The technology of the car has everything you could ask for. It is equipped with Chevy MyLink, which allows you to connect to your smartphone, use bluetooth, listen to music and more. Did I mention it comes with built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi? In addition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are compatible with the Cruze Hatchback.

Chevrolet’s always doing its part to keep drivers safe. The Cruze Hatchback offers available safety features such as Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Alert. Don’t forget about OnStar Automatic Crash Response. The vehicle itself comes with 10 standard airbags, and is protected by a high-strength steel safety cage.

With plenty of other available features, such as a heated steering wheel and heated seats, the 2017 Cruze Hatchback is a highly desirable vehicle. Look for it to drop in fall of this year, offered in LT and Premier trims.
