As soon as that green flag waves on Belle Isle this weekend, be prepared to see some of the fastest IndyCars, trucks, sports cars and more zooming past you! Watch some of the craftiest drivers vie for the chance to be crowned the champion of their respective race!

The event begins on Friday, May 30 and goes until Sunday, June 1. Belle Isle will feature the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series, the Tudor United SportsCar Championship, and the Pirelli World Challenge Series. Let’s not forget about the trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Truck Series. There is a lot going on at the Grand Prix, with something happening every hour. You can check out the full schedule to see all that is taking place, but let’s highlight a few events on each day.

On Friday, we get the pleasure of seeing the initial race of the SUPER Truck Series starting at approximately 4:35 p.m. There will be both a pre-race ceremony and a post-race ceremony. The SportsCar Championship qualifying heats will follow. The GT Daytona cars will qualify from 5:25 p.m. until 5:40 p.m., while the Prototype cars go from 5:45 p.m. until 6 p.m. Cap the night off in the Penske Tent for a “Grand Prix-mere” called “A Night in the Fast Lane.”

Saturday presents us with the Cadillac V-Series Challenge at 10:05 a.m. and goes for roughly an hour. The Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers takes place from 12:10 p.m. until 1:55 p.m. From 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. is the exciting 70-lap Chevrolet Indy Dual in Detroit (Dual I).

From transporting food and goods to having enough room for pets and family, owning the right SUV is essential for pet owners. See the available features that make the Chevy Tahoe a pet lover's dream.

The final day (Sunday) brings us the second race for the SUPER Truck series and Dual II for the IndyCars. There will also be another Cadillac V-Series race.

Corvette Corral track laps take place from 12:15 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. Car Corrals give you the perfect chance to meet fellow owners and collectors while enjoying all of the automotive festivities.

Not everyone there may be interested in the cars. So, in addition to all the racing action, the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage will be providing entertainment all weekend long. Rock band, Lifehouse performs on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. and reggae/R&B singer Shaggy plays on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Several other acts will take the stage throughout the weekend!

Ceremonies, Car Corrals, auctions, meetings and even church service are all part of the Grand Prix experience. As I mentioned earlier, there is honestly something going on at Belle Isle every hour during this magnificent weekend.

Whether you are taking the family for the whole weekend, or just going with a few friends for the day, the 2014 Grand Prix has everything you could ask for. We are supposed to have beautiful weather for it, so go have some fun in the sun.
