This Summer’s Hottest Car Shows

Car enthusiasts, unite! As the Motor City gears up for summer days cruising in all kinds of cars from classics to exotics, there are plenty of opportunities to show off your wheels. These are the biggest and best car shows happening around the D this summer.

Greenhouse Classic Car Show 

Bring your classic cars or your classic car enthusiast to The Greenhouse Classic Car Show, happening on two dates this summer. The judges will select three cars as “Best in Show” and they will each receive a custom-made trophy. No registration fee for participants and admission is free. When: Saturday, July 16 and Saturday, August 20

SHOW & SHINE Car Show

Hosted by the Competition Corvette Club of Michigan, this car show is open to all makes and models of cars and motorcycles. There will be plenty of giveaways and cash prizes throughout the event. This car show is open to the public and admission is $30.00.

When: Saturday, August 6, 8 a.m.

Where: Fountain Walk – Twelve Mile Crossing, 44225 West 12 Mile Road, Novi, MI 48377

DRIVEarama Car Show

DRIVE One is a local vocational school hosting its fifth annual car show and enrollment fair. DRIVEarama promises to host the Motor City’s most diverse array of customs, race cars, trucks, low-riders, and pedal bikes. The fifth annual car show will have fan-choice awards for the most outstanding car in addition to hourly project car firings, raffles, and a bake sale. Entry fees are $15.00 for entrants and free for spectators, although donations to DRIVE One are highly encouraged.

When: Sunday, July 17, 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Woodward Dream Show

The Woodward Dream Show presented by Comerica Bank is a hot rod, custom, cruiser, and muscle car show. 12 classes of cars are carefully selected to be in the show and represent the most iconic performance cars ever created. Admission for attendees 18 and older is $50.00, including access to the car show, RC car racing, and food and beverage pavilion. 

When: Friday, August 19, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Where: M1 Concourse: 1 Concourse Drive, Pontiac, MI 48341

Showdown in Motown Bike & Car Show

This car show is held on Belle Isle Island and is hosted by the Detroit Public Safety Foundation. All makes and models of cars and motorcycles are welcome. The registration fee is $25.00 per car and $15.00 per motorcycle. A Michigan Recreational Passport is required for entry to Belle Isle Island. 

When: Saturday, July 30, 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.

5th Annual Harsen’s Island Charity Car Show

This is the only car show in Metro Detroit where you arrive by ferry. Hosted by the Harsen’s Island St. Clair Flats Association, there will be 20 classes and 41 trophies to give away at this all-day event. Admission is free and will include an all-day DJ, 50/50 raffle, and concessions. Pre-registration for car show participants is highly encouraged through their event website.

When: Saturday, July 16, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Browne’s Field, Harsen’s Island

Italian Happening 2022

If you’re an Italian motor enthusiast, this is definitely the show for you. Open to any and all makes and models of Italian cars and motorcycles, this show brings casual camaraderie and an afternoon of chatting about these specific cars and bikes. Participant registration is $25.00. Food trucks will be on-site for a picnic lunch. 

When: Sunday, July 24, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
