Did you wake up last Friday morning in an ecstatic mood like I did?  Not only was it because it was almost the weekend, but because our Detroit Tigers are World Series bound.  Yes, that’s right, we are going to be able to witness history once again.

After an already memorable season, fans are filled with excitement and the city feels more alive than ever.  Walking downtown before and after games, you are sure to be high-fived by a stranger wearing Detroit Tigers gear just because everyone is so overwhelmed over our team.

In my previous article, 162 Games Down, 11 to go – Tigers fans ignite for postseason baseball!, I talked about how the 3 million fans that attended games this year sparked the team.  So what are the die-hard fans saying about the postseason?

“The 06 Tigers had a magical year, but their postseason inexperience showed throughout the postseason,” Jesse said.  “This year’s team is filled with big names and has much more postseason experience and grit.”

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

“2012 is more exciting because the Tigers have momentum after sweeping the Yankees,” Tom said.  “This team has more talent, and our starting pitching looks unstoppable.”

“There is something magical about this season with Cabrera winning the Triple Crown,” Nick said.  “It’s the Tigers’ year and I can’t wait to watch them finish the season off right!”

Now I raise the question to those who were around when the 1984 Detroit Tigers dominated the American League and the postseason.  Since I was born in 1990, I was unfortunately not able to witness that magical year.  What was the atmosphere like in ’84 and how would you compare it to 2012?

“The main difference between then and now is that the Tigers started off 35-5 and were in first place the entire season,” Ron said.  “The atmosphere at old Tiger Stadium was so bone-chilling that you were on the edge of your seat for every pitch.”

The Detroit Tigers have 4 more wins to go and a chance at making this year the most memorable year in club history!
