If you are a kid who loves baseball or an adult who loves a kid who is crazy for America’s favorite summer game, then there is a baseball clinic that you will want to check out where you can be trained by great players who share your passion for this pastime.

The Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers and the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL) are working together to offer Youth Baseball Clinics at Jimmy John’s Field this June in Utica. The event, which will be held June 29, has two sessions that are great for kids of various experience levels between the ages of 8 to 14.

One session from 5 to 6:30 p.m. is for kids who may be considered beginners at the game; this is defined as kids who have zero to two years of baseball experience. The second session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. is for advanced players who have three or more years of baseball experience.

Kids from anywhere in Metro Detroit are invited to participate. Kids will need some basic equipment to take part in the event. More details will be available as participants register and the event organizers reach out to those who signed up.

With best-in-class cargo space, top of the line safety features, and cutting edge technology, the Chevy Suburban is perfect for any family. See the Suburban's available features that can keep up with your family's lifestyle.

To attend one of these sessions, visit one of the 38 Metro Detroit Chevy Dealerships and pick up a postcard that contains a unique code for free admission.

Participants receive instruction on how to improve their skills in all areas of the game. They will do drills designed to improve key fundamentals, such as hitting, pitching, fielding and base running. They also will be able to talk to players one on one, get autographs from current players and learn more about the game from pros of all kinds.

The United Shore Professional Baseball League, based in Utica, is an independent professional baseball league which began its inaugural season May 30, 2016. USPBL games are played at the Jimmy John’s Field, just off of M-59 in Utica. The USPBL season is played May-September.

This year’s teams are the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, the Eastside Diamond Hoppers, the Utica Unicorns and the Westside Woolly Mammoths. All 2021 USPBL single games will be seven innings, and all double headers will be six-inning games.

The USPBL is ready to welcome back fans for the 2021 season. Tickets for all grandstand seating, group and patio area seating, and lawn seating will be available for purchase online or by visiting the box office, which is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during weekdays.

Opening Day will be Friday, May 28, as the two-time defending champion Utica Unicorns take on the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers at 7:05 p.m. The game will feature a ring ceremony and championship flag raising for the Unicorns, the USPBL Dance Crew, bat dog JJ, The Field General, a magnet schedule giveaway and a post-game Fireworks Spectacular.
