If you have yet to sing your little heart out with your friends in a karaoke type setting, then I’m not sure you’ve quite lived yet. I mean I’ll be honest, it takes a few alcoholic beverages to get me up there and I’m not sure I would do it by myself, but singing karaoke is always a good time.

The crowd must endure my tone-deafness and off-key voice, but I am a natural born entertainer so I usually can win them over…other than that one time my friends and I tried to rap a Tupac Shakur song on stage. It didn’t work out so well. Ask me about Garth Brooks, Aerosmith or Journey though. Karaoke Singers of the Night Award would have been ours on those nights; if that was a thing.

Metro Detroit has several bars that offer karaoke for whatever night of the week you may be feeling courageous and/or need to escape the reality of your day job. If you think that you’re ready to rock the stage then check out one of these establishments.

Monday

With best-in-class cargo space, top of the line safety features, and cutting edge technology, the Chevy Suburban is perfect for any family. See the Suburban's available features that can keep up with your family's lifestyle.

Pickney Pub and Grille, 10292 Dexter-Pickney Rd. seems to be the place to go to wash away your case of the Mondays. Karaoke starts at 9:30 p.m. and lasts until 1:30 a.m. Plus on Mondays you can get $0.50 wings and $2.00 bottles of select beer!

Tuesday

Bookies Bar and Grille resides at 2208 Cass Ave. in Downtown Detroit and is always a good time. This is especially true on Tuesdays with karaoke! Try Bookie’s “Mile high Nachos” or a burger and either participate in singing or laugh at those who do.

Wednesday

On the Rocks Bar and Grill, 28167 John R. St., in Madison Heights has been voted “Best Karaoke Bar in Detroit” in the Vote for Best of Detroit Contest. It offers karaoke and a live DJ every week Wednesdays through Saturdays and has a selection of more than 75 beers, including some brewed right here in Michigan.

Thursday

Circus Bar and Billiards, 210 S. 1st St., in Ann Arbor seems to be a good stop for a little bit of karaoke. If you’re interested in $.0.75 Coors Lights and Pabst Blue Ribbons or $1.50 Sierra Nevadas then come here. Plus free pool! What else do you need?

Friday

Lefty’s Lounge is located at 5440 Cass Ave., in Midtown and has karaoke every Friday from 8 p.m. until close. All day long (and any day of the week for that matter) Lefty’s offers $3 pints and $10 pitchers of beer. You may also want to try the award-winning “All-Star Burger” for $7.99.

Saturday

Johnny B Good’s Sports Bar and Grill located at 26230 Groesbeck Hwy., in Warren does karaoke every Friday and Saturday night starting at 9 p.m. Drink specials are almost always flowing here as well. Johnny B Good’s also throws a themed party once a month so be on the lookout for that.

Sunday

Slingers, 11791 Farmington Rd., in Livonia, is one of my favorite bars. It is always a blast—basically if you make enough noise you can win free drinks and shots. Oh and they give you drumsticks! Yes, I have done karaoke with a little liquid courage on a Sunday night. Yes, I did have to work the next morning. Don’t judge me!

If you karaoke so much you believe you deserve your own recording contract; check out a seven days a week karaoke establishment such as Rockstarz in Garden City.

There you go. Karaoke anytime you want it. Don’t say I’ve never given you a good idea. Well I guess that depends on your performance. Time to hit the stage!
