We have officially hit the never-ending stretch of winter in Michigan that leaves many of us struggling to roll out of bed in the morning. I will be the first to admit that the below freezing temperatures send me head first into a seasonal funk.

With that being said… this IS Michigan. Anyone who has lived here for more than two years knows the constant weather fluctuations and unforgiving temperatures are inevitable. So where does that leave us mitten folk? Desperate for some good ole’ fashioned indoor fun, of course!

Instead of spending your weekends wrapped in a Snuggie on the couch watching another movie marathon, consider checking out these entertainment options that Metro Detroit has to offer:

Exercise your ability to multi-task with a game of Whirlyball. I speak from personal experience when I tell you that this game will definitely get your competitive edge up and running! At the very least, you will get heated trying to figure out how to steer your cart.

Whether you're going out on a fishing trip, discovering new hiking spots, or heading out for a weekend of camping, the Trailblazer is an ideal companion for your active lifestyle.

Now I don’t know about you, but I will happily partake in a game of shuffleboard every chance I get. Maybe you’re looking for something that’s a little more hardcore? The Detroit Curling Club provides an excellent opportunity for you to test your strategic agility with a game that essentially resembles a life-size shuffleboard table.

Planning a date night? Painting with a Twist provides you with an alcohol-infused evening of artistic expression! Follow along with the studio’s expert to create your own work of art while sipping on your beverage of choice (FYI, it’s BYOB).

If you’re in need of an adrenaline rush but have zero interest in participating in a polar bear plunge, rest easy. Metro Detroit is littered with indoor rock climbing walls for you to challenge not only your strength, but your potential fear of heights, too.

If you prefer to get your entertainment through sheer laughter, you will want to make the trip to Go Comedy! Improv Theater in Ferndale. Every Wednesday through Sunday, Go Comedy! offers both improv and sketch shows for your viewing pleasure.

Keep your heads up Michiganders, spring is just around the corner. Now do your psyche a favor and go have a good time!
