Metro Detroit always knows how to ring in the new year with plenty of lively parties and events leading up to the ball drop. While those are all exciting, there are also local events that help make the new year celebration fun for kids. Whether it’s earlier times, fun games, or other children-based activities, families of all ages can have fun ringing in 2020!

Rochester Play’s Noon Year’s Eve

Rochester Play is always a great destination to entertain the kids, and their Noon Year’s Eve celebration is no different. The party kicks off at at 9 a.m. and will feature a balloon drop at noon, food specials, free Lager Frenzy play, crafts and other activities. The event is free with regular admission but pre-paid reservations are suggested since it tends to fill-up quick.

New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown

Celebrate the start of 2020 at Beacon Park in Detroit with an afternoon full of fun children’s activities! The free event will offer a wide range of activities and crafts for kids of all ages, and also include a countdown. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. and will run until 6 p.m.

NYE Dinner and Feather Bowling

Have some good ol’ fashioned family competition at Bath City Bistro in Mount Clemens beginning at 4 p.m. You and your family can enjoy feather bowling and then some dinner at the fine bistro. Be sure to call ahead for lane reservations and dinner tables.

A Nonstop New Year’s Eve

For those with kids who can make it past midnight, check out Allegiant Nonstop’s New Year’s Eve party beginning at 9 p.m. The Warren entertainment center will feature private tables (available only with a reservation), a live DJ, all-you-can-play-passes, $10 credit for future play, pizza, and unlimited soda leading up to the new year. Champagne and wine are also available for adults throughout the night.

Noon Year’s Eve at the Detroit Historical Museum

The Detroit Historical Museum will host its Noon Year’s Eve party starting at 10 a.m. You’ll be able to dance in the streets of Old Detroit with a live DJ and enjoy complimentary drinks, cookies, and a balloon drop at noon. Registration is required for the event and ticket price includes general admission to the museum.
