It’s that time of year again, my friends. Grab your handkerchief, because summer is coming to a close. As I’m writing this, we have approximately one month until the first day of fall. While some might weep as the Autumnal Equinox approaches, my smile grows brighter as I become giddy for crisp leaves and fresh apple cider.

However, it’s not quite time for all of that business yet, so let’s not jump ahead of ourselves. Today is the start of Labor Day weekend, our final hurrah of summer fun. This weekend is a time to kick back with an ice cold Oberon in hand while lounging on a boat all day long, followed by an evening of grilling burgers and topping everything off with a refreshing ice cream cone.

Maybe you’re not going to make it out onto the lake this weekend, or perhaps you’re simply looking for ways to be inspired when it comes to enjoying the last few weeks of summer. Well, you’re in luck! I have compiled all of the summer-related food, drink, entertainment and fun “In the D” articles from this past summer and put them in one convenient place for you:

If you’re planning to stay around Metro Detroit for the holiday weekend, there are plenty of events on the schedule! Arts, Beats & Eats is back in downtown Royal Oak, along with the Michigan State Fair at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi and the Detroit Jazz Festival in Hart Plaza and Campus Martius Park.

We’ve still got a bit of time left before the leaves begin to fall and there’s a chill in the air, Metro Detroiters. So, let’s get out there and make the most of it!
