Metro Detroit Winter Festivals: Embrace the cold and have some fun!

As the temperatures dip and the snow begins to fly, we often desire to curl up under a blanket and hibernate until spring. While this temptation is understandable… don’t give in! Get up and head out to one of the many fun and exciting winter festivals that are happening in the Metro Detroit Area!

Plymouth will be having their annual Plymouth Ice Festival on January 18-20. The festival, happening downtown, runs from 6pm until midnight, Friday and Saturday and 10am until 6pm on Sunday. Downtown South Lyon will be holding their 2nd Annual Lyon Township Winterfest on January 19. You can experience sled dog rides, ice-skating, a 5K snow run, cross country skiing, ice fishing and more. There will also be a Chili Cook-Off. For more information, please check out their Facebook page.

The city of Rochester will be having their Fire & Ice Fest on January 25-27. The festivities include ice-skating, snowshoeing demos, tubing down Third Street, carriage rides, cross country skiing, a food and beverage tent and more. The Beverly Hills Winter Family Festival will be happening on January 27 from 1pm to 4pm. From snowshoeing, to ice skating and sledding, this festival has it all. There is also a snow cave to explore, winter golf and even curling! For more information, please call (248) 646-6404.

The city of Berkley will be having their annual Winterfest on February 2. There will be ice-skating, a snowman building contest, a soup cook off and more. There will also be a winter petting farm for all to enjoy. For more information, please call (248) 658-3470.

The city of Detroit is happy to celebrate their Motown Winter Blast on February 8-10. Head to Campus Martius Park for dining, music and family fun!
