Summer is in full swing and the entertainment around Metro Detroit is certainly not lacking! We’ve discussed some great concerts going on at the different outdoor venues in the area, as well as activities to partake in and excellent places to dine outdoors. Luckily for us Metro Detroiters, there are an abundance of festivals and art fairs scheduled for the season.

Whether you feel like hitting the occasional festival or fair, or you build your entire summer around them, there are plenty of both for you to tackle over the next few months.

Art fairs are great for people like me who lack creativity when it comes to gift giving. I can pretty much always find a few killer birthday presents when I am shopping around the hand crafted treasures created by many of Michigan’s most talented artisans. Here are just a few art fairs you might not want to miss out on:

As far as festivals are concerned, I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that the first thing to come to mind is the food. Italian sausage covered in peppers and onions, elephant ears doused in powdered sugar and corn dogs are just a few of the items that put a smile on my face. Whether you’re looking to pay homage to the king himself (yes, Elvis), check out hydroplane races, or listen to the smooth sounds of jazz, there are plenty of unique festival choices to attend.

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

Whether your summer is so jam packed that it’s tough to find a spare minute, or you have actively tried to avoid making plans, I would highly suggest squeezing in a one or two of these great festivals or fairs before the season is over!
