Tail-waggin’ Howl-O-Ween Fun!

Halloween – a favorite time of year for costume and candy lovers. However, the events listed below give pets a moment in the spotlight. Dogs of all kinds will show up, dressed in their best costumes in hopes of winning a prize. Join the festivities! Dress your pup up or simply enjoy the show in your own costume…

Howl-O-Ween

The city of Waterford is holding a dog parade and costume contest at the Warming House on Civic Center Drive. Pet owners will have the opportunity to dress their pets in their most impressive costumes and show them off to possibly win a prize. The categories are most creative, best dressed, and best dog and owner combo. However, every registered dog will receive a goodie bag. Howl-O-Ween will take place on October 29 with check-in beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required and can be done here for $10. 

Troy Recreation Howl-O-Ween

Troy Recreation Howl-O-Ween is scheduled for Saturday, October 29, from noon-2:45 p.m. at the Daisy Knight Dog Park. The puppy patch will be reserved for dogs to play, and for the owners to show off their doggy’s costume of choice. Treats will also be available, along with a designated area for photos. Pre-registration is required and can be done here. The cost is $5 for dog park members, $8 for residents, and $11 for non-residents. 

Thrills at the Mills

Hudson Mills Metro Park is hosting Thrills at the Mills on October 29 from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Pet owners and their dogs can enjoy the dog tug-o-war, leaf pile fun, an agility course, and a costume contest. There will be trunk or treating for the kids, along with a drive-in style showing of Monster House. Pre-registration is required for the costume contest and the trunk or treat. Costume contest winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. Additionally, food will be available to purchase from Two Brothers BBQ Mac Shack food truck and PizzaPazza food truck until 7 p.m.

Acacia Park Cemetery Trunk or Treat

Just inside the gates of Acacia Park Cemetery will be a trunk or treat, happening on October 29, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. there will also be a costume contest with prizes being given for best children’s costume, best adult costume, best pet costume, and the best couple or group costume.
