To whom it may concern: Valentine’s Day is this week! We hope that doesn’t come as a complete surprise, but if it does, we’re here to help. Whether you’re in the mood for some soul music, improv comedy, or one of the most romantic movies of all-time, there’s a perfect date night for everyone. Here are some of the best Valentine’s Day events happening around Metro Detroit, just don’t forget the heart-shaped chocolate box!

Valentine’s Soul Jam
Some of the best soul artists to ever do it will be taking over the Fox Theatre on Valentine’s Day starting at 8 p.m. The night will feature greatest hits from The Whispers, The Dramatics, Russel Thompkins Jr. & The New Stylistics, and Enchantment. With decades of experience and numerous R&B hits to their name, it’s sure to be an entertaining and soulful experience.

“Titanic” at The Michigan Theater
It’s hard to name a movie more romantic than “Titanic,” and The Michigan Theater is giving you the chance to see the film on the big screen on Valentine’s Day night. The Academy Award-winning blockbuster is the perfect date night movie and a must-see in the theater. Michigan Theater members can enjoy a reception in the Grand Foyer starting at 5:30 p.m. and free tickets to the screening.

Go Comedy! Improv Theater’s All-Star Showdown: Valentine’s Day Edition
Go Comedy! Improv Theater is always bringing the laughs, and that’s no different on Valentine’s Day when they’ll host their All-Star Showdown at 8 and 10 p.m. The night will feature a Valentine’s version of their popular All-Star Showdown along with plenty of chocolate, couples’ prizes, and drink specials. Nektar’s Valentine’s Day Event
While there are numerous Valentine’s Day events for those in a relationship, B. Nektar is looking out for those who are single on the holiday. The meadery will be featuring their Chocolate Coffee Sanchez, which is a raspberry mead with chocolate and coffee. Road Dogz Hotdogs will also be on-hand with their speciality hot dogs and sausages.

VanHalentine’s Day X
Celebrating the 10th annual VanHalentine’s Day at The Magic Bag on Saturday, February 15 will be the ultimate Van Halen Tribute band, Panama. The band performs all of the big hits from the David Lee Roth era of the classic rock band and has become a Valentine’s Day staple in Ferndale. Detroit’s own rock and roll group The Beggars will be kicking things off starting at 8 p.m.
