The sixth-generation Chevy Camaro was revealed last weekend at Belle Isle. The new edition is lighter, more powerful and possesses more advanced technology than its predecessors. Just when you thought the car could not possibly get any better, the 2016 Camaro provides a faster, more nimble driving experience—thanks to lighter architecture and a broader powertrain range.

There are six all-new powertrain combinations, including a 2.0-liter turbo, 3.6-liter V-6 and the LT1 6.2-liter V-8. The entry-level turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is primed for a more refined and responsive performance, thanks to its compact design. Direct injection and variable valve timing allow for a better performance in the V-6 option. The V-8 option provides an unprecedented, Society of Automotive Engineers-certified 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque!

The powertrain options are not the only new aspects of the Camaro. The design, while building off of previous models, has some serious changes. Compared to the fifth-generation model, the new Camaro coupe has lower, slimmer proportions, broader shoulders and a fastback profile. The aforementioned lightweight architecture makes this version the most nimble and agile model yet. This sixth-gen model also advances the aerodynamic prowess set by the previous generation. A new 8-speed paddle shift automatic transmission is available for all new models as well.

All wheel options are made with lightweight aluminum. The aluminum suspension components reduce unsprung mass, which allows for more handling with the vehicle. The brakes on the vehicle are stronger, and for the first time in the Camaro’s history, Brembo® brakes come standard with all 2016 models.

From backyard projects to weekend getaways, the Chevy Blazer offers unmatched cargo space and convenience for all your adventures.

Not to be outdone, the interior has undergone some major upgrades as well. The cockpit boasts sculpted lines and defined details, which exudes a great deal of sophistication on every 2016 model. The flat-bottom steering wheel, high-performance seats, and instinctive shifter placement provide a more comfortable feeling for drivers. Another neat feature is the LED accent lighting surrounding the interior of the vehicle, which happens to be available in 24 different colors!

Let’s not forget to mention the technology in this beautiful machine. Sport, Tour and Ice/Snow drive modes are available to alter traction control, shift feel, throttle, steering and more to get you through road conditions. The SS model also has a Track mode, and Magnetic Ride Control! The engineers of the car have fine-tuned exhaust notes to roar at the perfect frequency, which is music to the ears of all Camaro owners. As always with Chevy, the 2016 Camaro provides a suite of connective technologies to heighten your overall driving experience.

This is the most advanced Camaro to date. The coupe is not in showrooms yet, but is expected to be available for purchase late in the year. Although, it may be hard for Camaro fans to wait that long after hearing about what this car has to offer! Patience is a virtue, young Padawans.
