In the past we’ve shown you some great places to grab gourmet pizza in metro Detroit. Some of those places had great gluten-free options, which got us thinking: what other places in metro Detroit have great gluten-free options?

7 Greens Detroit Salad Co.

Given its name, it should be obvious what you’ll find at 7 Greens Detroit Salad Co. The menu contains 14 specialty salads like Tino Bowl, Detroit Greek and Woodward Cruise, and the option to customize your own salad. But, where 7 Greens makes its gluten-free mark is with its dressings. All dressings at 7 Greens are made in-house daily and are gluten-free. With an extensive dressings list that ranges from the more common balsamic or caesar dressings to the more interesting pomegranate sumac and sriracha drizzle, 7 Greens is a great place to eat well and stay gluten free.

Detroit Vegan Soul

Detroit Vegan Soul started its road to providing the Detroit community with “soul food made from whole food” in 2012 by delivering and catering meals in downtown Detroit. Eventually, owners Kirsten Ussery and Erika Boyd opened Detroit Vegan Soul and now serve vegan meals to Detroiters daily. The menu at DVS appetizers, soups, main courses, sides and more, and all gluten-free options are marked with “GF” next to them. Gluten-free options include “catfish” tofu, smothered tempeh, BBQ tofu, okra stew, black-eyed pea hummus and more.

Seva

With locations in Ann Arbor and Detroit, Seva is a vegetarian-first restaurant with gluten-free menus for both locations. A glance at the Ann Arbor and Detroit gluten-free menu will show a lot of crossover between items, but also some items that are unique to their location, such as gouda tater tots in Ann Arbor and the spinach dip in Detroit. Some items on the gluten-free menu may not be gluten-free by default, but can be special-ordered to be gluten-free by substituting the bread of a sandwich or the protein option of a salad, for example.

This is how you Traverse Michigan. With cutting edge technology, tons of cargo space, and advanced safety features, Chevy Traverse is your key to unlocking the mitten state.

Vinsetta Garage

A staple of Woodward Avenue, this garage-turned-restaurant has become an iconic location of “Detroit’s Main Street.” It addition to its regular menu, Vinsetta Garage also has a gluten-free menu with appetizers, soups, burgers, kale bowls and more on offer. Try the “Chop Shop” salad or the “Vinsetta Burger,” but don’t forget to save room for some gluten-free dessert, like Faygo ice cream, house-made frozen custard and milkshakes.
